Ø The 3rd Installment of course for Non-sponsored candidates to be deposited by 30th November 2010 along
with the remaining hostel rent for 2nd Semester @ Rs.1800 per month i.e Rs 10,800/-. The sponsored
candidates also should deposit the remaining hostel rent for 2nd Semester @ Rs. 1800/- per month i.e
Rs 10,800/- by 30th November 2010.
Ø A fine of Rs.100/- per week will be charged for delay in payment of requisite fees.

General Instructions:
Ø All original Mark Sheet, Certificates including proof of Date of Birth, address, Caste Certificate (if any),
Non-Creamy Certificate for OBC candidates are to be produced during admission.
Ø Fooding (Breakfast, lunch and dinner) is available on monthly chargeable basis at the Institute canteen.
Ø Those who will be availing hostel facility must bring their own bedding materials.
N.B :
1. There is no provision of concession for candidates from any category.

2. Delay admission with prior approval is allowed till 25.08.2010 of the selected candidates already
acknowledged their consent to join the course.

YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION 

Young Men's Christian Association, a movement dedicated to meet human needs, is a result of the Industrial Revolution in England which forced thousands abandoning the countryside for better living in the city. Britain was plagued with the many ills and human suffering caused by sudden rise immigrants in London. It was the worst affected city, there being no agency to take care of the people. 

Amongst many migrants George Williams came to London in 1841 looking for employment and worked as an assistant in the drapery establishment of M/s Hitchcocks and Rogers. Later he married Hitchcock's daughter Helen and took over proprietorship of the firm after Hitchcock died. During the days of his struggle he formed a group of 12 young men coming from different Protestant denominations, three each from the Methodist, Independent, Presbyterian and the Church of England, to take care of the spiritual and human needs of young men who came from rural Britain to find a living in the oppressive conditions of urban society. It was in George William's room that twelve young men met on 6 June, 1844 to form a society for improving the spiritual conditions of young men engaged in drapery and other trades. Two weeks later the society was given a new name "The Young Men's Christian Association".

Admission Process
The admission to AIM (2011) will be through the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management. CAT is the first step in the process for seeking admission to AIM. Based on the performance in CAT, candidates will be called for Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GD/PI) to be conducted by AIM at Kolkata. Final merit list is drawn up based on the candidate’s performance in CAT & GD/PI.

Eligibility: 
The minimum qualification for admission to MBA programme is Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from any university recognized by the Association of Indian Universities with 50% marks. Candidates of current batch who would be completing all requirements for the Bachelor’s Degree by 30 June 2011 may also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally and will be required to produce evidence to establish their eligibility by 15 September 2011, failing which they will be dropped from the programme.

Eligibility for Army Category : - The admission to the AWES Professional Colleges is for the children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex Army personnel and war widows of the Army. The children of following categories of Army personnel are eligible and they are required to submit the relevant certificate as given against the category applicable to them as proof of their eligibility for admission to AWES Professional Colleges along with the

Application Form :-
1. The applicants must fall into one of the following categories:-
(a) Children of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years continuous service in the Army (Submit Certificate No 1).
(b) Children of ex Army personnel granted/ awarded regular pension, liberalized
family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their
superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/ invalided medical board. This includes wards of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pension. (Submit Certificate No 1).
(c) Children of ex Army personnel who have taken discharge or released after ten years of service. (Submit Certificate No 1).

2. Adopted/Step Children and Children of Remarried Widows.
(a) Adopted Child of Army personnel if adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission. (Submit Certificate No 2).
(b) Step Children are eligible provided they are born from a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army who is other wise eligible. (Submit Certificate No 2).

3. Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases
(a) Eligibility Criteria for Children of Ex Army Medical Corps Officers/Army Dental Corps Officers Presently Serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force (IN/IAF). Children of only those ex-Army Medical officers/Army Dental Corps officers presently serving with Indian Navy/Indian Air Force who have served with the Army for at least 10 years. (Submit Certificate No 3).

(b) Eligibility Criteria for Children of APS/MNS/TA Personnel (Submit Certificate
No 3).
(i) Children of APS personnel classified as ex-servicemen as per Government of
India, Ministry of Defence letter No 9 (52)/88/D(Res) dated 19 Jul 89.
(ii) Children of those APS personnel who are on deputation and who have put in 10 years of service in the Army.
(iii) Children of APS personnel, who are directly recruited into APS who have
completed 10 years of service and of those who as per their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS without reversion to P&T Department after completing their minimum pensionable service of which 10 years was in the Army.
(iv) Children of only those members of MNS who have 10 years service as regular members of MNS or are in receipt of pension from the Army.
(v) Children of only those TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.

(Necessary certificates as given in the prospectus may please be attached alongwith the application. Please also mention the Para and Sub Para on the certificate under which you are eligible)

Application Form
The attached Application Form will be filled up properly and submitted to this Institute on or before 31 December 2010. Candidates have to fill up CAT Test Registration Number & Centre Code number allotted by IIMs in the respective boxes given in the application form of AIM. Application Form can also be downloaded and forwarded to this Institute alongwith a demand draft (in favour of ‘Director AIM’ payable at Kolkata) of Rs 800/- for Army category and Rs 900/- for General category (including Rs 50/- as postal charges). A self-addressed envelope duly affixed postal stamp will have to be sent for obtaining ‘Receipt and Application Number’.

Group Discussion / Personal Interview (GD/PI)
Candidates who qualify in CAT will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview at Kolkata on merit basis. Candidates will have to meet their own travel expenses and cater for their own boarding and lodging. 

The selected candidates will be informed by mail during 3rd week of Feb 2011. The GD&PI will be conducted during 3rd week of March 2011 at Kolkata. The exact dates will be communicated individually through call letters as well as Institute website. The candidates will have to produce their CAT admit card for GD/PI.

Selection The result will be displayed on the notice board of AIM and in the website www.aim.ac.in‘Joining Instruction’ (JI) will be issued to the selected and wait-listed candidates who shall be required to deposit a sum of Rs 10,000/- through Demand Draft, drawn in favour of “Director AIM” payable at Kolkata, as acceptance of offer along with the willingness certificate. The amount will be adjusted against the tuition fees, which has to be paid at the time of registration including fees of first semester once the candidate is admitted.

Age: No upper age limit.

Ensuring Eligibility is the Candidate’s Responsibility
It is the responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether they possess the requisite qualifications for admission. Having been called for counseling (GD/PI) does not necessarily mean acceptance of eligibility. Final eligibility for admission will be decided by the College authority at the time of counseling (GD/PI) and also later during the scrutiny of papers by the University. If a candidate is found to be ineligible at any time before or after the commencement of course, the College authority reserves the right to cancel his/her candidature without any refund of the fees/charges paid.
