Eligibility:
Applicant must be a citizen of India. 

Age: Not less than 17 years as on 31st December, 2011 for all courses.

(a) BAMS, BHMS, Physiotherapy and BUMS a: The applicant having passed / appeared / due to appear in the year 2011 at the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent examination recognised by the West Bengal Council of H. S. Education with English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology  and also Vernacular or any other   5th subject.

(b) Nursing : Only female candidates having passed / appeared / due to appear in the year 2011 at the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent examination recognized by West Bengal University of Health Sciences with 50% marks (40% for SC/ST) in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English taken together with pass marks  in each subject individually are eligible.

Date of Examination: The written test will be held on SUNDAY, the 24th April, 2011.

Examination and Question Pattern: A written test will be conducted in Paper – I: Biological Sciences - 100 marks (11 a.m. – 1 p.m.); Paper – II: Physics & Chemistry – 100 marks (2 p.m. – 4 p.m.).

Residential Criteria : (a) BAMS, BHMS, Physiotherapy and BUMS: Candidates must have been residing in the State of West Bengal uninterruptedly for a minimum period of 10 (ten) years as on 31.12.2010 or their parents must be permanent residents of West Bengal having their permanent home addresses in the State of West Bengal. (b) Nursing:  For admission to government colleges, the candidates either have been residing in the State of West Bengal uninterruptedly for not less than 10 years as on 31.12.2010 or their parents must be permanent residents in the State of West Bengal having their permanent home addresses in the State of West Bengal. However, candidates of States other than West Bengal may be considered for admission to non-government Nursing Colleges/Institutions.

Reservation of seats: For SC/ST /PC candidates State Government rules will be followed.

How To Apply:
Intending candidates shall have to apply in the prescribed Application Form which along with Information Brochure will be available w.e.f.  15.02.2011 to 18.03.2011 from the Branch Offices of UNITED BANK OF INDIA at  Jadavpur, Sealdah, Old Court House Street, BESUS-Howrah, , Serampore, Bankura, Barasat, Bardhaman, Durgapur City Centre, Medinipur, Tamluk, Krishnanagar, Berhampore, Malda, Coochbehar, Siliguri, on all working days on  payment of Rs. 350/- (Rupees three hundred and fifty) in CASH.  The Application Forms and the Information Brochures may also be obtained from-Govt. and Govt. aided Homoeopathic, Ayurvedic and Physiotherapy Colleges on deposit of a Bank Draft of Rs. 350/- to be drawn in favour of “WEST BENGAL JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS BOARD” payable at Kolkata [for details visit the website: www.wbjeeb.in  or contact Central Selection Committee (ISM&H), Phone No. (033) 2333-0146/0249]. 

There is also a provision for obtaining Application Form along with Information Brochure from the Office of the BOARD through Postal request only upto 04.03.2011 by sending a Bank Draft of Rs.450/- (Application Fee Rs.350/- + Speed Post and other charges Rs.100/-) only to be drawn in favour of ‘WEST BENGAL JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS BOARD’ payable at Kolkata so as to reach the completed form by Speed Post to the Office of the Board on or before 25th March, 2011.

Application forms may also be obtained from the Board’s Office by hand only on payment of late fee of Rs.100/- only in addition to the actual cost of the form Rs.350/-  to be paid through Bank draft to be drawn in favour ‘WEST BENGAL JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS BOARD’ payable at Kolkata/Howrah on 21.03.2011 and 22.03.2011 respectively. Eligibility Criteria : The applicant must be a citizen of India and should have passed the H.S.(10+2) or its equivalent examination. The general candidates must have to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology taken together (40% for SC/ST candidates) and at least 30% marks in English (for all categories). In addition, candidates must secure at least pass marks in the subjects individually including vernacular (or any other fifth subject) as mentioned below: B.E/B.Tech./B.Arch :Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject. M.B.B.S/B.D.S. : Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject. PHARMACY: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject.

For MBBS and BDS courses : In addition to the aforesaid eligibility criteria, the general candidates must have to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biological Sciences taken together (40% for SC/ST) in the Joint Entrance Examination, W.B.

Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in 2011 will be allowed to sit for JEM-2011 provisionally and their admission, if merit listed, will be subjected to satisfying the minimum requirements of eligibility as specified above.

Age Restriction : Candidates must be 17 (seventeen) years of age or above as on 31.12.2011. There is no upper age limit except for the Marine Engineering course for which the upper age limit is 25 years as on 31.07.2011.

Residential Requirements: Candidates desirous of seeking admission to Government Engineering / Technology Colleges, Govt. Medical and Dental Colleges as well as to Private Medical and Dental Colleges, must have been residing in the State of West Bengal continuously at least for last 10 (ten) years as on 31.12.2010 or their parents must be permanent resident of West Bengal having their permanent home address in the State of West Bengal.

Reservation : Reservation for SC/ST/PC candidates are as per State Govt. Rules.

Examination Centre: To be located in West Bengal and Tripura.

Cost of Application Form : The Application Kit (i.e., prescribed printed application form along with Information Brochure and a printed window envelope) will be available from different Branches of United Bank of India (as specified below) on payment of Rs.500/- (for E / M type Form) and Rs.600/- (for C type Form) in cash.

The Application Kit may also be obtained by Post from the Board’s Office on application with an additional fee of Rs.200/- (Rupees two hundred) only. The total amount (i.e., cost of application form plus Rs.200/-) has to be paid by Demand Draft drawn in favour of “WEST BENGAL JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS BOARD” payable at Howrah/Kolkata. The last date for request for application-kit by post is 15.12.2010 and the last date for receipt of completed application form by Speed Post only is 12.01.2011. Request for application form received beyond the stipulated date as mentioned above will not be entertained and the Board shall not be held responsible in any manner whatsoever for such non-receipt arising out of postal delay. The Application Kit may also be obtained from the Board’s Office only with payment of actual cost of the form plus late fee of Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three hundred) only. The whole amount is to be paid through a Bank Draft to be drawn in favour of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board” payable at Kolkata / Howrah from 01.01.2011 to 07.01.2011. The application form once purchased cannot be returned or replaced.

How to Apply : The duly filled in application form must be sent in the printed window envelope received by the candidate within the Application Kit by SPEED POST only so as to reach the office of the Board by 12.01.2011. Submission of Application Form by hand or courier service will not be accepted.

Eligibility:
The candidates should be Indian Nationals and should satisfy local/non-local status requirements laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974 as amended up to date.

As per the latest  AICTE Approval Process Handbook 2011-2012, eligibility criteria for admission into MBA and MCA courses is revised stipulating 50% (45% for reserved categories) of  marks at the qualifying examination. Candidates shall fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down in relevant GOs at the time of admissions.
The candidate who are appearing for the final year degree examination shall also be eligible to appear for ICET-2011

Qualifying marks in ICET-2011 is 25% and no minimum marks are prescribed for SC/ST candidates. Mere qualification in the entrance test does not entitle a candidate to have been admitted into MBA/MCA course unless the candidate:
Appears for counseling at the notified Centers

Applies in response to the admission notification issued by the authority concerned (for distance mode) Satisfies all the eligibility conditions of admission stipulated by the authority concerned.

Eligibility:
(i) AGE: Not less than 17 years as on 31st December, 2011 (Candidates born after 31st December1994 need not apply).

(ii) Minimum Qualification: 

(a) MBBS /BDS/BAMS: The Candidate must have passed the 10+2, i.e. ISC/ Intermediate or its equivalent. After a period of 12 years of study. The last two years of such study comprising Physics , Chemistry, Biology and English from a Recognized Board/University and must have passed in all the above subjects. The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology taken together in the qualifying examination In respect of the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBCs the marks obtained in be Physics, Chemistry, Biology taken together in the qualifying examination be 40% in lieu of 50% for general Candidates.

(b) BHMS: The candidates who have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology shall be eligible. The candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination (XII) and result is not yet available are also eligible to appear in the common pre medical entrance examination but such candidates shall submit the mark sheet of the qualifying examination (XII) on and before the date specified in the information brochure.

SELECTION PROCEDURES

PRELIMINARY SELECTION

i. Usually, the selection to the posts will be made on the basis of an Interview/ Personality Test/ Skill Test. Mere fulfilling of minimum prescribed qualifications etc. will not entitle a applicant to be called for the Interview/ Personality Test/ Skill Test. Commission may make a preliminary selection of applicants on the basis of their educational qualifications, academic records, percentage of marks, etc., and the applicants thus selected will be required to undergo an Interview/ Personality Test/ Skill Test.
ii. The Commission, may at its discretion, decide to hold a Proficiency Test in appropriate subject for any of the categories of posts or to make a screening of applicants on the basis of percentage of marks on the EQ, where it is felt necessary, before the applicants are called for Interview/Personality Test/ Skill Test/Proficiency Test. The Proficiency Test would be in the relevant subject, which will be intimated to the applicants in due course of time.
iii. The Commission may at its discretion, waive holding of Proficiency Test in those categories of posts where a Proficiency Test has been prescribed.
NOTE : The Interview/Personality Test is structured in such a manner that the applicants` interests, knowledge, various traits, aptitude, suitability etc. are probed, among other things, through academic qualifications, extra-curricular activities, general awareness/knowledge, depth of knowledge of the subject studied on the level of ‘Essential Qualification’ for the post, communicative skill and personality etc.``

SCREENING TEST

i. The Commission may, at its discretion decide to hold a screening test for any  of the categories where it is felt necessary before Interview/Personality Test/ Proficiency Test/Skill Test.
ii. The Commission may, at its discretion, where it is felt necessary,  without holding Screening Test may screen the applicants by the method of short listing on the basis of percentage of marks on the prescribed Essential Qualification for the post.
iii. Only such of the applicants who qualify in the screening test or otherwise at the standard fixed by the Commission at their discretion would be eligible for being called for the Interview/Personality Test/ Proficiency Test/Skill Test.
