Admission Notification for Ph.D. (Neuroscience) and Integrated Ph.D. (Neuroscience) Programmes for the academic year 2011-2012

ELIGIBILITY

    Ph.D. (NEUROSCIENCE)*

Master's degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as Life Science / Physics/ Chemistry / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer application / Pharmacy / Veterinary Science/ Psychology
OR
A minimum of four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering / Technology / Medicine.

Online application process begins

19th  January, 2011

Last date to submit on-line applications

15th  February, 2011

Last date to receive State Bank of India demand draft along with registration slip (Candidates sending amount by NEFT mode should send their UTR number by e-mail to admissions2011@nbrc.ac.in)

18th  February, 2011

Tentative date for downloading the admit cards (only those candidates whose payment of application fee is received by NBRC will be able to download the admit cards)

25th  February, 2011 onwards

Written test will be held on

13th March, 2011

List of candidates shortlisted to be called for the interview Will be notified on our website
Last Date for required scanned documents of those applicants who clear entrance test and who are called for the interview 15th April, 2011
Dates of interview Will be notified on our website

SELECTION PROCEDURE

Shortlisted candidates after the written test will be called for a two-tier interview at NBRC. The final selection will be based on the performance in the interview. The dates for the interview will be intimated later, and will also be posted on NBRC website.
The decision of the screening / selection committee will be final and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the applicant. The candidates finally selected for the Ph.D. or Integrated Ph.D. programmes will be eligible for scholarship as per NBRC rules and will be provided hostel accommodation on a sharing basis.

National Brain Research Centre is a major neuroscience research group, situated in Manesar township of Haryana, India. It is an Autonomous Government Institute accredited with a deemed university status and is a nodal center under Department of Biotechnology of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. NBRC was dedicated to the country on the 14th November, 1997 and it was formally inaugurated at its current campus in Manesar in December 2003 by then President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The center is dedicated to provide infrastructural facilities and a coordinated multidisciplinary team to work at the frontiers of neuroscience research and network the existing groups and whenever required, create satellite units to catalyze the overall growth of this discipline in the country. Founder director Dr. Vijayalakshmi Ravindranath has been awarded Padmashri in the year 2010 by government of India.
