Walk in Interview PhD Admission
WALK-IN interviews for direct Ph. D Admission Indian Institute of Technology Indore invites application for walk-in interview for direct PhD Admission to the candidates possessing either of the following qualifications:
(i) Admission to all Engineering disciplines - Valid GATE percentile greater than 92.
(Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering)
(ii) Admission to all basic science disciplines- CSIR - JRF qualification
(Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics)
(iii) Admission to all humanities and social science disciplines- UGC- JRF qualification
(Economics, Philosophy and English)
How to Apply
All eligible candidates are requested to send their applications by email. Your application must include your detailed curriculum vitae (CV), areas of research interest, contact details including phone number, email and postal address. Kindly send the proposed date and time when you would be available for interview. Please mention your discipline and area of research interests in your application. Candidates may refer to the list of research areas of different faculty members at IIT Indore as given in Appendix I.
The subject line of email should be "Application for walk-in interview for PhD admission in -------------" .
Candidates must send their application to the respective Head of the School for their respective discipline at IIT Indore:
Engineering candidates must write to: hos.engg@iiti.ac.in

Humanities and Social Sciences candidates must write to: hosh@iiti.ac.in
Your application must be received by email at least 10 days before the date of your interview. After consultation with the Selection Panel the date for your interview will be confirmed to you. You are advised to book your tickets only after you receive confirmation of interview date from the respective Head of the School.
The candidates called for interview will be reimbursed to-and-fro sleeper class train fare from their place of residence to Indore. Overnight accommodation at Institute Guest House will also be provided.

About IIT Indore
Indian Institute of Technology Indore, located in Madhya Pradesh, known as IIT Indore or IITI, is an institute of national importance established by the Government of India in 2009. It is one of the eight new IIT s, started by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (India), Government of India.
The institution started functioning from 2009-10 in a temporary campus at Institute of Engineering and Technology of Devi Ahilyabai University under mentorship of IIT Bombay.
In keeping with India’s vision to become a world leader in science and Technology and to usher in a new revolution, resulting in an unprecedented economic growth, Government of India reassessed the need of technical manpower and decided to set up eight new IITs. Six of these started functioning back from the academic year 2008-09. These were established at Hyderabad, Gandhinagar, Rajasthan, Ropar, Patna and Bhubaneswar. IIT Indore and IIT Mandi started functioning from July 2009.
