Admission to M.Sc. Programmes for the Academic Year 2011-2012

1) M.Sc (Applied Mathematics)  
(2 years / 4 semester)

2) M.Sc. (Mathematics and Scientific Computing) 
(2 years / 4 semesters) (Self-Financed) 

3) M.Sc. (Tech.) Engineering Physics 
(Industry Oriented) with streams of study in Photonics/ Electronics/ Instrumentation 
(3 years / 6 semesters)                            

4) M.Sc. Industrial Chemistry (Dyes, Drugs, Pharmaceuticals and Pesticides)
(2 years / 4 semesters) 

5) M.Sc. Industrial Chemistry (Modern Methods of Chemical Analysis)
 (2 years / 4 semesters)     

Admissions are made on ALL INDIA BASIS for all the programmes, with reservations as per Govt. of India norms. The selection criterion for admission into all the M.Sc. programmes is based on Institute Admission Test, NITWET2011.

NITWET2010 (National Institute of Technology Warangal Entrance Test) is a National Level Entrance Test being conducted for admission into various M. Sc. Programmes at NIT Warangal. The admission into M.Sc. programmes at NIT Warangal will be based on the Rank obtained in NITWET 2011 ONLY. 

Candidates seeking admission into M.Sc. should have passed B.Sc. or equivalent degree in the subject concerned from a recognized University/ Institution with First Class and not less than 60% aggregate marks (of all the years) or equivalent CGPA of 6.5/10. In case of SC/ST and Physically Challenged (PC) candidates 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of 6.0/10 is the eligibility requirement.

National Institute of Technology, Warangal (NITW), is an undergraduate and post graduate engineering institute located in Warangal, India. Formerly known as the Regional Engineering College, Warangal (RECW), it is the first among the 17 Regional Engineering Colleges established in India and was founded in 1959 by the then Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. Today it is an Institute of National Importance awarding bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in engineering, technology, basic sciences and management.
NIT Warangal, previously known as REC Warangal, is located in the northern region of Andhra Pradesh. The 256-acre (1.04 km2) residential campus is located on both sides of the National Highway No. 202 (Hyderabad - Warangal - Khammam). The institute is close to Kazipet Junction (2 km) a major railway junction and also Warangal railway station, making it very accessible. The nearest airport is in Hyderabad 135 km. The state road transport APSRTC buses ply at intervals of 5–10 minutes, between Hanamkonda,Warangal and Hyderabad bus stands.
The 256 acres of land is divided by the NH 202 highway into staff quarters, CCE and the Main campus, amidst the Kazipet and Hanamkonda in Warangal District. The City of Warangal is known for its Kakatiya dynasty, who ruled Warangal during the 11th and 12th Century and their monuments like Thousand Pillar temple, Bhadrakali temple, Warangal fort and Ramappa temple. The main entrance of the campus depicts the traditional elegance of Kakatiya Thoranam. The main entrance of the campus is inscribe with the words "कर्मदैव हि संसिद्धि", meaning that the one who works shall succeed.
