ITBP Recruitment of Sub-Inspector (Overseer) Jobs Written Test Interview

RECRUITMENT OF SUB-INSPECTOR (OVERSEER)

SELECTION PROCESS

The eligible candidates shall be issued Admit cards to appear in recruitment test. The date and place of recruitment test will be indicated in Admit card. Candidates will have to undergo the following tests:-

a) Checking of Documents
The candidate will be required to produce the original and attested photocopies of the documents related to his Education Qualification, Date of Birth, Category etc. as mentioned in para 11 above. The original documents will be returned to the candidate on the spot after verification.

b) Physical Measurement
Candidates who are found eligible on scrutiny of documents will be screened first for Height, Chest and Weight measurements.

c) Physical Efficiency Test (P.E.T)
The candidates who are found fit in Physical Measurements will be required to qualify Physical Efficiency Test (PET) consisting of following events:-

Race 100 meters To be completed in 16 seconds
Race 1.6 kms. To be completed in 6.5 minutes
Long Jump 3.65 meters In 3 chances
High Jump 1.2 meters In 3 chances
Shot Put 4.5 meters In 3 chances

Note: PET will be of qualifying nature and those who do not qualify the above tests will get eliminated from the process there only and will not be allowed to appear in the Written Test.

(d) Written Test
Written Test (Total 100 Marks) about Professional Knowledge (80 marks) and General Awareness (20 marks) will be conducted. Answers must be given only in Hindi or English.

(e) Qualifying Marks: A minimum of 35% marks for General & Ex-servicemen candidates and 33% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

(f) Interview
The candidates who qualify the written test will be required to appear in interview (20 Marks) for assessment of personal bearing, response, aptitude and general level of intelligence etc. There shall be no minimum marks in interview but marks obtained by a candidate shall be added while drawing the merit list.

(g) Detailed Medical Examination Candidates selected in order of merit as per category wise number of vacancies, will be put through detailed medical examination to assess their fitness.

(h) Appeal against Detailed Medical Examination

i) A candidate declared unfit in Detail Medical Examination, if not satisfied with the findings of the Medical Officer, can submit an appeal for his remedical examination with a Medical Fitness Certificate as per Annexure-‘VI’, as a piece of evidence about the possibility of an error of judgment in the decision of the Medical Officer. The Medical certificate will not be taken into consideration unless it contains a note by the medical practitioner concerned to the effect that it has been given in full knowledge of the fact that the candidate has already been rejected as unfit for appointment by a Medical Officer. The appeal will also not be taken into consideration unless it contains Medical Re-examination fee of Rs. 25/- through Indian Postal Order or Demand Draft in the name of Commandant, Base Hospital, ITBP, New Delhi and rejection slip (in original) issued by the Presiding Officer. The appeal should be submitted within 30 days from the date of issue of the Rejection Slip (in which the findings of the Medical Officer are communicated to the candidate) to the authority to whom the application was initially submitted. The appeals received after the prescribed 30 days, without relevant documents will not be entertained. ITBP will not be responsible for any kind of postal delay, etc.

ii) The decision of the review medical board of ITBP shall be final and no second appeal will be entertained as per Govt. instructions and also no reply of the correspondence/second appeal will be given/entertained.

All eligible candidates will be duly informed about the date and venue of the recruitment tests through admit card. Candidates should come duly prepared for 3-4 days stay under their own arrangements at the Recruitment Centre. Under any circumstances the Government shall not be responsible for damage/injury, if any, to the individual sustained during the recruitment. No TA/DA will be admissible. Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected and no correspondence on this will be entertained. No application after the last date as mentioned above will be accepted.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is an Indian paramilitary force conceived on October 24, 1962 for security along the India's border with the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, border covering 2115 kilometers.
Only four battalions were sanctioned to begin with, to fill up the security vacuum that was prevalent at that time on the Indo - Tibet border. Later in view of the additional responsibilities and the task redefined in 1976, the Force was restructured in 1978.
The ITBP is trained in mountaineering, disaster management, and nuclear, biological and chemical disasters. ITBP personnel have been deployed abroad in United Nations peacekeeping missions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Haiti, Sudan, and elsewhere.
