RBI Research Officer Jobs Syllabus Written Exam Pattern Scheme Interview


Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Research Officer Recruitment 

Advertisement for the post of Research Officer in Grade ‘B’ (DR) for Department of Economic and Policy Research (DEPR)

Scheme of Selection :

Selection will be through Written Examination ('WE') and interview. There are 3 papers for Written Examinations. 'WE' will be held on September 3 (Saturday) and September 4 (Sunday), 2011.

Type of Paper:

Paper - I Objective Type (on Economics)
Duration : 3 hours
Maximum Marks: 100

Paper - II Descriptive Type (on Economics)
Duration : 3 hours
Maximum Marks: 100

Paper - III English - Descriptive
Duration : 3 hours
Maximum Marks: 100

Paper II and Paper III of only such candidates, who score sufficiently high marks, as decided by the Board in order of merit in Paper I, would be assessed. (ii) Question papers for 'WE' will be set in Hindi and in English (except Paper III on English). Answers may be written either in Hindi or English. Candidates may answer the interview in Hindi or English at their option. (iii) The number of candidates to be called for interview will be decided by the Board. (iv) Final selection will be on the basis of performance in the 'WE' (Paper I, II and III) and interview taken together.

Syllabus :

(i) Standard of papers on Economics would be that of Master's Degree examination in Economics of any Central University in India. (ii) Syllabus for English: Essay, Précis writing, Comprehension, Business/Office Correspondence.

About Reserve bank of India
Reserve bank of India is the central banking institution of India. Under the short name it is also calls as the RBI. Reserve bank controls the monetary policy of the Indian rupee and also the US dollar ($). The Reserve bank was formed in the year of 1935 when British Government is ruling on the India. They set ups the reserve bank under the act of the Reserve Bank of India, 1934. The headquarters of the Reserve Bank of India is locates at the economical capital of India i.e. Mumbai. RBI is a member bank of the Asian Clearing Union. The bank was set up by the recommendation of the Hilton-Young Commission. The first central office of the RBI is locates at the Kolkata and then it is permently transfer at the Mumbai.
From the establishment Reserve bank of India had around 21 governors. At present Mr. Duvvuri Subbarao is the governor of the Reserve bank of India. RBI has four regional offices which are locates at the different part of the India, 15 branches and five sub-offices. Bank also has two training centre’s for its officers which are locates at the Chennai and Pune.
The main function of the Reserve bank of India is to monetary authority of the India and acts as the bank for national and state governments. The main object of the RBI is maintaining price stability and ensures that to maintain the adequate flow of credit. RBI also regulates and supervises the financial system of India and to control on other banking instaurations. RBI also designs the Indian currency in which they have to design the rupee banknotes and coins. RBI also controls the foreign exchange section it manages the exchange rate and external trades. Reserve bank of India also issues the currency in India.
