IGNOU to offer PG Diploma in Rural Banking
New Delhi: The Indira Gandhi National Open University's (IGNOU) Centre for Corporate Education, Training and Consultancy (CCETC) and School of Agriculture (SOA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bankers Institute of Rural Development (BIRD) to offer a fully residential programme - Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Banking (PGDRB).

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), named after ex Indian Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, is the national university, formed in 1985. It has its headquarters at New Delhi in India. When Indian Parliament had passed the Indira Gandhi National Open University Act, 1985 in 1985, it had the budget of INR 2000 Crore. IGNOU is now one of the largest open universities in world. It was established to provide higher education through distance learning and to set standards in India for distance education.
