About South Western Railway (SWR) 
The South Western Railway is one of the 16 railway zones in India. It is headquartered at Hubli and comprises Bangalore and Mysore divisions of the erstwhile Southern Railway and reorganized Hubli division of the erstwhile South Central Railway including Hospet-Bellary. It came into existence on April 1, 2003. Ministry of Railways Constable Recruitment RPF RPSF Vacancy Form


Ministry of Railways invites application for the post of Constable for Railway Protection Force (RPF) / Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF).

Positions:

1) Constable

Total Number of posts: 11952
(UR-6901, SC-1317, ST-1363, OBC-2371)

Scale of Pay : Rs. 5200 to 2000/- Plus Grade Pay Rs. 2000/- P.M.

Age Limit : Candidates age must be between 18 to 25 years.

Applications in the prescribed format should be sent to the Nodal Chief Security Commissioner of North Eastern Railway/ Eastern Railway/ East Coast Railway/ Southern Railway as the full address is provided in the detailed advertisement within 30 days i.e. upto 28.03.2011.

Indian Railways
The inaugural of Indian Railway was formally done in  16h April 1853, but the first train in the Indian railway history was ran from Bombay to Thane in 1843, with the plan to connect Thane and Bombay under the Chief Engineer Mr. George Clark.  In the year 1853, 14 railways ran by taking 400 guests by leaving from Bori Bunder at 3.30 pm. In 15th August 1854, the first passenger train ran from Howrah station to Hoogly which is about 24 miles.  Later, the section of East Indian Railway was inaugurated for public traffic.
Soon the next year on 1st July 1856, the first line of Madras Railway Company was opened.  Slowly, all the lines for passenger was started across India started and this was the beginning of Indian Railway.  By 1880, the line of Indian Railway touched to 9000 miles.  Currently, Indian Railway is the premier railway in Asia.  On the daily basis, 11,000 trains run carrying 13 million passengers.

About Indian railway
An Indian railway was introduced to India in 1853, the first railway in Indian history run from Bombay to Thane on 16th April 1853. It covers a distance of 34 km. This was the official birth of Indian railways. In 1880 Indian railway ran in major cities Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata, Indian railway had started build their own locomotive in 1895. Indian railway has more than sixty nine thousand nine station and64 km of track. 1 core 6 lakh employee works in Indian railway in 2009.Indian railway carry twenty million passenger and two million tons of wagons daily. Indian railway divided into west, central, north and east further it also divided into 16th sub division. Indian railway also manufactures their own wagon, Engine and coach. Coaches are manufacture In Vishakhapatnam. These locomotive companies are in Kanpur, Bhopal and Bangalore. Suburban rail starts in several cities Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Lucknow-Kanpur, and Ahmadabad. Indian railway use commonly four type gauge broad gauge, standard gauge, meter gauge, narrow gauges. Broad gauge commonly used all over in India. Narrow gauge is commonly used in hill line area. Track rated speed ranging up to 80 to 160 kilometer per hour. Mumbai division of railway commonly uses electricity from TATA power. In India sixty four thousand km of area is electrified with 25,000 V. A.C. traction. Kolkata Metro rail use 750v dc delivered through third rail. Electric engine commonly get electricity from overhead. Konkan railway is line runs from Konkan coast of India and it was constructed by Konkan Railway Corporation. Konkan railway opened from 26 JAN 1998 for Indian passenger.

Recruitment of staff from open market in Pay Band-1 of Rs.5200-20200 having Grade Pay of Rs.1800/-.

The Ministry of Railways have decided that henceforth minimum educational qualification for recruitment in Pay Band-1 of Rs. 5,200-20,200 having Grade Pay of Rs. 1800/- will be 10th pass or ITI or equivalent. These instructions will be applicable for all future recruitment henceforth against direct recruitment quota through all modes.
