The Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights (PPV&FR) Act, 2001, provides for establishment of an effective system of plant varieties, the rights of farmers and plants breeders and encourages the development of new varieties of plants. PPV&FR Authority was established under the Dept of Agriculture and Co-operation, Ministry of Agriculture. PPV&FRA invites applications for filling up of the following post for Regional offices at Ranchi and Guwahati:
Name of the post: Deputy Registrar (Technical)(on deputation/transfer including short term contract)
Pay Scale: PB-3/Rs 15600-39100/- with grade pay of Rs 6600/- & other admissible allowances as per Central Govt. rules.
No of post: 2(two)- one each at Ranchi & Guwahati
Eligibility:
The Officers under the Central/State Govts/UT/SAUs/ recognised Research Institutions/Autonomous organisations/Semi-Govt organisations/PSUs having a total of ten years experience in the field of Agriculture/Horticulture/Forestry Sciences or Seed development activities out of which at least three years experience in the field of Varietal improvement/IPR.
i. Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre/department ; or
ii. With three years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the grade pay of Rs 5400/- or equivalent in the parent cadre/department or 6 years service in the grade pay of Rs 4800/- or equivalent. Period of deputation including deputation in another ex cadre post immediately preceding this appointment in the same or other organisation/department of the Central Govt. shall ordinarily not exceeding five years. The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation(including short term contract) shall not be exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of application.
Essential:
1. Master’s Degree in Agriculture and allied Science with specialisation in Plant Breeding and Genetics, Biotechnology, Agriculture Botany/Seed Technology or other related subjects.
2. Total 10 years experience in the field of Agricultural Sciences or Seed Development activities, out of which , at least three years experience is required in the field of Varietal improvement/Intellectual Property Rights and with at least 3 years experience in the grade pay of Rs 5400/- or 6 years experience in the grade pay of 4800/-
