Applications are invited for filling up the vacancy for the posts of Directors, one each, in National lnstitute of Technology - Arunachal Pradesh, Delhi, Goa, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Puducherry, Sikkim and Uttarakhand in the grade of Rs.75,000/- (fixed) plus Special Allowance of Rs.5000/- p.m. as applicable to the Vice Chancellors of Universities as admissible under the rules. Director of an NIT, being the academic as well as administrative head, is expected to have proven administrative, teaching and research background (including significant experience in research guidance at the Ph.D. level) with leadership qualities. The appointment shall be made on contract basis for a term of five years or till the attainment of the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
AGE: The candidate applying for the post should preferably be below 60 years of age at the time of applying.

Ph.D. Degree with first class degree at Bachelor's and Master's level in Engineering / Technology. Persons who have obtained Ph.D. directly after B.Tech. will also be considered provided they have obtained first class at Bachelor level in Engineering1 Technology.
EXPERIENCE:
An eminent person in his / her field and having proven administrative, teaching and research background (including significant experience in research guidance at the Ph.D. level with leadership qualities) and with 15 years experience in Teaching / Industry / Research out of which 10 years must be at the level of Professor or above in a reputed educational lnstitute, Research lnstitute or Industry.
National Institutes of Technology (NITS) are autonomous institutions fully funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The Dlrectors wlll be appointed after obtaining the approval of the Competent Authority, based on the recommendations made by the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee will consider applications received in response to this advertisement as well as nominations received from eminent persons.
