About CIPET
CIPET or Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology is an autonomous institute under the department of chemicals and petrochemicals, ministry of chemicals and fertilizers, Government of India.
To meet the needs of plastics conversion industry,CIPET has established extension centres in various states of the country.Each centre of the CIPET has been equipped with the state-of-the-art machinery in the area of mould/product design and development, CAD, plastic processing and testing/quality control. Apart from developing training manpower and technical services for plastics industries,each centre has been entrusted with a specific thrust area for development.
CIPET established 15 state-of-the-art centres spreading across the country. Admission to these centres are through the joint entrance examination (JEE)conducted every year by CIPET.
This is one of the leading institute under the ministry of chemicals and fertilizers which leads in chemical research. This offers a course in polymer nanotechnology as post graduate studies.
CIPET chennai offers courses in plastic technology and manufacturing technology. CIPET chennai is the head office of all CIPET centres which was started on 1968.
