The University offers through its constituent colleges Post-Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications for providing qualified work force to the industry.

Notes:
(i) The result will be notified on the Department Notice Board and on the Website. No individual communication will be sent.
(ii) Schedule for admission would be notified along with the result.
(iii) The Entrance Test will be conducted at University of Delhi Only.

Age Requirements:
(i) No person shall be eligible for admission to first year of the PGDCA course in the University unless he/she is twenty years of age before the first day of October of the year in which he/she seeks admission.
(ii) The Vice-Chancellor may relax the age limit up to the extent of one year on individual merit after a written request is made by the candidate.

Entrance Examination Fee: General category: Rs 800/- SC/ST, PH category : Rs 400/-

Admission Ticket:
The Admission Tickets will be issued by hand or by post. The candidate will be required to show the Admission Ticket at the time of the Test. The Department will not be responsible for any loss/postal delay of the Admission Ticket. No candidate will be admitted to the Examination Hall without the Admission Ticket. However, duplicate Admission Ticket will be issued on 08th July 2011 such candidates should bring two photographs and serial number of application form after 12.00 Noon.

The PGDCA Course is a full time and is offered in the following four colleges:

Course Fee : A Course fee of Rs.10,000/- for the complete course , in addition to the college fee.

Number of Seats (in each college) : Unreserved : 16, SC : 5,ST: 2, OBC: 8.

The Course structure is under revision subject to the approval of Academic Council.

The University of Delhi was established in 1922 as a unitary, teaching and residential university by an Act of the Central Legislative Assembly. The first convocation of Delhi University was also held in the Assembly Hall in Old Secretariat Building which now houses the Legislative Assembly of Delhi, on 26 March 1923 with 750 invitees. Honorary Degrees were conferred on Lord Reading (Viceroy of India), Sir Md. Jahan and Sir Hari Singh Gaur, the first Vice Chancellor of the University. Only three colleges existed then in Delhi: St. Stephens College founded in 1881, Hindu College founded in 1899 and Ramjas College founded in 1917, which were affiliated to the University. The University thus had a modest beginning with just three colleges, two faculties (Arts and Science) and about 750 students.

Note:
1) All information relating to admission, including  Entrance Examination results, schedule for interviews (applicable for MCA only), and counseling shall be notified on the department website and on the department notice board. 
2) The Entrance Examination will be conducted at University of Delhi only.

Admission Procedure: 

MCA

50% of the seats  shall be  filled on the basis of merit in the B.Sc.(H) Computer Science Examination of University of Delhi. Only those students who have secured at least 60% marks in the B.Sc.(H) Computer Science examination of the University of Delhi are eligible for consideration under this category. The candidates interested to apply for admission in this category, must apply along with application processing fee by the deadline mentioned in this document. No separate advertisement shall be issued for this purpose.

Remaining 50% seats shall be filled through an entrance examination conducted by the Department of Computer Science followed by interview. The entrance exam will consist of two parts:

Test I  : Objective type questions.
Test II : Comprehensive questions.

Note: If M is the number of seats in a particular category, answer sheets of Part II shall be evaluated only for the top 6M scorers of Part I in that category and top 3M scorers of Part II shall be called for the interview. There shall be 80% weight-age for the entrance exam (only Part II) and 20% weight-age for the interview.

M.Sc. 
50% of the seats  shall be  filled on the basis of merit in the B.Sc.(H) Computer Science Examinations of University of Delhi. Only those students who have secured at least 60% marks in the B.Sc.(H) Computer Science examination of the University of Delhi are eligible for consideration under this category. Admission Ticket for MCA / M.Sc. (Computer Science)
The admission tickets will be issued by post only. In case of non-receipt of the Admission Ticket, a request may be made to the department with    two copies of photograph alongwith proof of having sent the application, not earlier than three days prior to the date of the  Entrance Examination, for issue of a duplicate admission ticket. The candidate will be required to show the admission ticket at the time of the test. No candidate will be admitted to the Examination Hall without the admission ticket.

DU CATE 2011 Application Form Participating Colleges Date Schedule


Combined Aptitude Test for English (CATE)

DU BA English (Honours) Admission 2011

A Combined Aptitude Test for English (CATE), for admission to the B.A. (Honours) course in English offered by the University of Delhi will be conducted on Wednesday, June 05, 2011. The test, which will be held under the aegis of the Department of English, Delhi University, will be of two-and-a-half hours duration, and will evaluate candidates’ aptitude for the B.A, (Honours) English.

a) The criteria of eligibility for appearing for the CATE will be (i) a minimum score of 60% in English.( Core or Functional or Elective) and .(ii) 60% aggregate in the best 4 subjects of the Class XII examination.
b) Application forms for the CATE will be made available at the office of the Department of English , Arts Faculty Building , University of Delhi (North Campus).Each candidate for the test will be required to submit at the same office , along with the completed application form , two passport-size photographs , a copy of his/her Class XII mark-sheet and a sum of Rs. 100/- as demand draft in favour of The Registrar , University of Delhi , test fee . Registration for the test will be done at each of the venues set up for the distribution of forms.
c) Upon registration, each candidate will be given a counterfoil of the application form which will serve as his/her receipt-cum-test admit card as well as mention his/her roll number for the test and test venue .
d) A candidate needs to submit only one CATE application form to register for the test even though he/she may be applying to more than one college for B.A.(Honours)English .
e) Relaxation of benchmarks for admission of candidates of CATE who belong to the OBC constituency, as identified by their relevant certificates, will be enforced as per university rules.
f) Students who belong to the various reserved categories, such as SC / ST / PH or foreign students, whose admission is done directly by the university, need not appear for the CATE.


NOTE FOR STUDENTS APPLYING FOR B.A.(Hons.) English
Candidates for the test will be required, apart from applying on the CATE Form, to put in applications in the prescribed college forms/University OMR Form. Acknowledgment slips of which they must present to the college(s) of their choice(among the CATE-Participating Colleges) after they have duly secured their CATE Scores.

VITMEE EXAM DATES

VITMEE will be conducted on 11th and 12th June 2011, between 10 am and 12 noon. VIT will inform the candidates the exact date and time of the exam will be uploaded in website. 

Test Slot booking instructions:

VITMEE 2011 test slot booking is a web based online scheduling system.

Online Applicants

Once the candidate submits the online application, the candidate will receive will an e-mail (as per the id specified in the VITMEE 2011 online application form) with a website link and the corresponding login credentials (user id & password). 

Candidates are required to check the VIT website (www.vit.ac.in) on a regular basis for any important updates.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Admission to both MCA and M.Tech programmes will be based on the candidates' performance in VITMEE conducted by VIT University.

The names of candidates short-listed to attend the interview will be published in www.vit.ac.in

Candidates short-listed for interview will be informed of the date and time through SMS if mobile number is provided. This information will also be available in the website.

Selected Candidates should pay a deposit of  10,000 as an advance at the time of the interview. This amount will be adjusted against their first year fee.

This should be paid by means of Demand Draft drawn in favour of “VIT University”, payable at Vellore (only computerised DD will be accepted).

Candidates who fail to pay the advance at the time of interview will not be considered for admission.

Those who have passed 10+2 vocational ANM course (revised after 2001) from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council. ANM training that is 10+1.1/2 years of training should also have passed + 2 or its equivalent examination.

c) Relaxation of 5% marks shall be granted to candidates belonging to SC/ST category.

d) No other vocational courses are eligible.

2) Age: Minimum and maximum age for admission will be 17 and 30 years respectively as on 31.07.2011. (5 years upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidates)
3) Only unmarried/ divorcee/ widow without encumbrance female candidates need apply.
4) Candidate must be declared medically fit by the medical board of the G.T.B. Hospital.
5) Candidate must be an Indian Citizen.
