PUNJAB NATIONAL BANK INVITES ONLINE APPLICATIONS FROM INDIAN CITIZENS FOR THE FOLLOWING POST:

1) Single Window Operator A

GRADE/ SCALE : CLERICAL

NO. OF VACANCIES : 6428

SCALE OF PAY: 7200-400(3), 8400–500(3), 9900–600(4), 12300–700(7), 17200–1300(1), 18500– 800(1), 19300 (20 Years).*

*Plus Two Increments towards Graduation Pay & Other Allowances Like DA, HRA etc. as per Bank Rules.

Age as on 01.01.2011 : Above 20 Years and Below 25 Years

Minimum Educational Qualifications
As on opening date of Registration i.e.11.04.2011

Graduate in any discipline with 50% marks OR equivalent qualification, and working knowledge of MS Office. Relaxation in Educational Qualifications for SC/ST/EXSM/PC Candidates:

Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University, and working knowledge of MS Office.

Application Fee and Postage Charges (Non-refundable) :

SC/ST/PC/EXSM category candidates : Rs. 50/- per candidate (only postage charges)

General/OBC category candidates : Rs 300/- per candidate

HOW TO APPLY:-

a) Procedure for Depositing Fee:

Before depositing the fee/charges, the candidate must download a copy of the cash voucher from our website www.pnbindia.in- Link (Recruitment) The voucher will be in duplicate. The voucher be filled up and thereafter be presented at any Branch of PNB, along with the application fee. The following details must be entered into both copies of the voucher: (i) Candidate’s Name (ii) Candidate’s Category (iii) Name & Code Number of the branch selected for payment (iv) Date of Payment and (v) Fee to be paid. After payment, the candidate must ensure that the transaction ID generated is entered into the voucher. The candidate’s copy of the voucher will then be handed over to him/her.

Payment of fee should be made from 11.04.2011 to 03.05.2011 in any branch of PNB. No Fee will be accepted by any other mode. The date will be the same for candidates belonging to far-flung areas. Fees once deposited shall not be refunded.

b) Procedure to Apply:

Candidates should log onto our website www.pnbindia.in link (Recruitment). The candidates must apply online only. Application registration on our website will remain open from 11.04.2011 to 03.05.2011.

The transaction ID provided by the Branch after payment must be quoted in the application and the Original Cash voucher must be produced along with the call letter at the time of the written test.

The candidate should have a valid Email ID. This will enable him/her to receive call letter/ interview advice etc. by email.

Candidates should keep a printout of the completed application for reference in future. There is a provision to modify the submitted online application. Candidates are requested to make use of this facility to correct the details in the online application if any. This modification facility shall be available after 2 days of registration and upto 05.05.2011. Modification will be allowed only 3 times. After 05.05.2011, no modification will be permitted.

The original Cash Voucher and Call Letter is to be surrendered at the Examination Hall. The Information Handout will be available on the Bank’s website. Candidates may download the call letter/ Information Handout from bank’s website

CALL LETTERS FOR THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION
The date of the Written Test is TENTATIVELY FIXED as 19.06.2011. However, it will be intimated in the Call Letter along with the Centre/Venue address for the Examination, well in advance of the date of the Written Examination.

PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING CALL LETTERS FOR ATTENDING WRITTEN TEST:
All eligible candidates will be required to download their call letter and the Information Handout from the Bank’s website www.pnbindia.in- Link (Recruitment) tentatively from 04.06.2011. Candidates should note that the call letters will not be sent through POST / COURIER etc.

Brief history
Punjab National Bank (PNB) was first opened at Lahore, (now in Pakistan) under the active leadership of great Lala Lajpat Rai, the founder father of the bank and a famous politician from Punjab, in the year 1895 being formed in 1894. As a mission and part of ‘swadeshi movement’ the creation of the bank only by 14 shareholders with a steady foresight at those days was really a remarkable incident. In its long journey, the bank has passed through various transformations and developments. It has acquired about eleven different banks at different times. PNB has opened foreign branches so many times and some of the branches had to be closed for various reasons. Still this is a second largest bank of India with great contribution to Indian economy. With another 13 major banks, PNB was also nationalized in the year 1969 by the Govt. of India.

The bank is capable of maintaining its huge business of Rs.436000 crores through committed service backup and dedicated workforce behind. Last annual report envisaged a big net profit of Rs.3905 crores. Outstanding performance of the institution could place them in the Forbes list. Distinctive feature 
In the recent directive of the Govt. of India’s Financial Inclusion, the bank has taken considerable steps to reach to more and more people by opening branches at newer and so far un-banked places of the country. PNB is a committed soldier to the Indian Economy.
