ELIGIBILITY FOR ENTRANCE EXAMINATION:
Candidates who are appearing for (or) have passed H.S.C. Examination (Academic Stream of 10+2 curriculum) of any State Board/CBSE/ISC (or) any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto, with the group of subjects specified below and obtained the minimum eligible marks prescribed by the MCI are eligible to apply for the All India Common Entrance Examination conducted by this University.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO M.B.B.S. DEGREE COURSE:
A candidate must possess the qualification prescribed by the MCI, at the time of joining the course concerned.
Medical Council of India norms for admission to M.B.B.S.:
(i) Candidates must have passed H.S.C.(+2) examination/equivalent examination and obtained a minimum of 50% of marks (in case of SC/ST & OBC 40%) taking together Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany & Zoology)/Biotechnology and Mathematics and a pass in English; and
(ii) must also have secured not less than 50% marks (in case of SC/ST & OBC 40%) in the Entrance Examination.
AGE LIMIT :
Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December, 2011. Date of birth given in the HSC/CBSE/ISC or its equivalent Mark Statement or in the Birth Certificate or Passport shall be taken for computing the age of the candidates.
TUITION FEE:
The annual fee structure for M.B.B.S. Degree course is as follows for the academic year 2011-12.

M.B.B.S. Rs. 6,50,000/- (Rupees Six lakhs fifity thousand only)
per academic year
HALL TICKET :
(a) Hall Ticket for the All India Common Entrance Examination will be issued only to the eligible candidates and despatched to reach the candidates on or before 13-05-2011 (Friday). If any candidate does not receive the Hall Ticket as on 18-05-2011 (Wednesday), he/she should contact the office of the Registrar of University over phone (044-2476 5512 or 2476 5625) or report by fax (044-2476 5995 or 2476 7008) immediately. For such candidates, duplicate Hall Ticket will be issued at the centre opted by the candidate on the previous day of the Entrance Examination (i.e on 21-05-2011) between 3.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. The candidate should bring a copy of the identical passport size photograph already pasted on the Hall Ticket.
(b) HALL TICKET MUST BE PRODUCED BY THE CANDIDATES AT THE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION CENTRE WITHOUT FAIL. NO CANDIDATE WILL BE ALLOWED TO WRITE THE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION WITHOUT THE HALL TICKET.
ENTRANCE EXAMINATION CENTRES:
The All India Common Entrance Examination will be conducted at :
1) Bengaluru
2) Chennai
3) Delhi
4) Kolkata
5) Pune
DATE OF ENTRANCE EXAMINATION:
(a) The All India Common Entrance Examination will be conducted at the above said Centres on 22-05-2011 (Sunday) from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
(b) The candidates are advised to be at the Entrance Examination Centre one hour before the commencement of the Examination.
(c) The candidates need not bring ball point pen. This will be provided to them at the examination centres.
MODE OF SELECTION:
(a) Selection will be made on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the All India Common Entrance Examination. Intimation letter will be sent to the candidates provisionally selected for admission, on merit basis.
(b) In case of candidates who secure the same marks in the Entrance Examination, selection will be made based on the percentage of the total marks secured by them in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany and Zoology)/Biotechnology and Mathematics in the qualifying examination prescribed for admission.
(c) In order to facilitate the above ranking process, candidates should submit their copy of H.S.C.(+2) mark statement on or before 8-6-2011 to the office of the Registrar of University failing which they will lose rank position in the rank list as indicated in sub clause(b) above.
(d) Results will be published in the University Notice Board and also in the University website www.sriramachandra.edu.in
FILLING APPLICATION FORM AND ATTACHING CERTIFICATES:
(a) Application form should be filled in carefully and legibly by the candidate in his/her own handwriting.
(b) If the application form is downloaded from the University’s website, a demand draft for Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred only) drawn in favour of “Sri Ramachandra University” payable at Chennai towards the application and examination fee.
(c) Application will be rejected summarily if incomplete or sent without enclosing the relevant certificates.
(d) Candidates should enclose only photocopies of the certificates relating to qualification, Community, date of birth and nationality such as HSC Mark Statement(s), Transfer Certificate etc. The original Mark Statement(s) of the qualifying examination and other original documents should not be enclosed. They have to be produced only at the time of counselling.
(e) Three identical and recently taken passport size colour photographs are required. Candidates should affix the photographs in the space provided (i.e., one on the front page of the Application Form and one each on the Hall Ticket Forms). The candidates should sign on the photographs affixed on the Hall Ticket Forms.
LAST DATE:
The All India Common Entrance Examination Application Form duly filled in and securely fastened with the above mentioned enclosures may be delivered in person or sent by Registered Post / Speed Post / Courier Service to reach: THE REGISTRAR, SRI RAMACHANDRA UNIVERSITY, Porur, Chennai - 600 116 on or before 09-05-2011 (Monday).
