NLS NLSIU Admission 2011 Distance Education Courses Date Form Eligibility


The National Law School of India University (NLSIU or NLS) 

Admission for Distance Education Courses for the Year 2011·2012 

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) is the premium Law Univetsity in India. Appfications are invited for admission to .the following courses under.oistance Education P~rogramme.. fortheAcademic Year 2011-2012.

1) Two·YearMasterofBusiness Laws (M.B.L.) Programme
2) 0ne. Year P.G. Diploma Courses
a) Human Rights Law (PGDHRL)
b) Medical Law & Ethics (PGDMLE)
c) Environmental Law (PGDEL)
d) Intellectual Property Rights Law (PGDIPRL)
e) Child Rights Law (PGDCRL)
f) Consumer L~w & Practice (PGDCLP)

All the above courses are recognized by the Distance
Education Council, IGNOU, New Delhi.

Any graduate from a recognised University is eligible to apply ..There· is no restriction as to the age or percentage of marks obtained.

For application to any of the above, kindly write to the Coordinator, Distance Education Department, National Law School of India University, Nagarbhavi, Bangalore - 560 ~42 (Old Pin: 560 072), along with a Demand Draft for ~·1000/- drawn in favour of Registrar, NLSIU and payable at Bangalore.

Application forms will be issued from 20th April 2011.

Last date for the issue and receipt of duly filled in application:

Without Late Fee : June 30, 2011

With Late Fee of.~ 500/- : August 31,2011

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU or NLS) is an institution for under-graduate and graduate legal education.
In its Post-Graduate Degree Course (LL.M.), NLSIU presently offers two specializations, one in Business Laws and the other in Human Rights. This course aims at producing scholars/experts in the pertinent field of law. Therefore, LL.M. students are designated as "Research Scholars". The LL.M. at NLSIU is a specially designed Post-Graduate Course, different from all the other Post-Graduate Courses presently offered by any other Indian University. There are currently 25 seats for Human Rights and 25 for Business Laws. Two seats are reserved for Foreign Nationals. Students are selected through the CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) conducted by all the Law Schools in India. A prospectus can be obtained from NLSIU on payment of the requisite fee.

NLSIU also offers part-time distance learning programmes, including aMasters Degree in Business Law and Postgraduate Diploma programs in Human Rights Law, Medical Law, Environmental Law and IP Law.
