Post Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management (PGDFM)
Eligibility:
Applicants should have (a) at least a three-year bachelors degree in any discipline obtained through the 10+2+3 system or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/PD) or equivalent CGPA. Candidates appearing for the final year graduation examination are also eligible to apply provided they complete it before June 30, 2011 and fulfill the eligibility criteria as set by IIFM.
Admission Procedure
Common Admission Test (CAT)
All applicants desirous of seeking admission in PGDFM at IIFM, Bhopal have to appear for Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) by responding to their notification published in leading national dailies. IIFM will use the CAT score only for short-listing the candidates for two year full time post graduate programme. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.
Group Discussion/Interview:
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CAT score will be called for Group Discussion and Interview at IIFM, Bhopal during February/March 2011.
Reservation
27%, 15%, 7.5% and 3% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the OBC-Non-Creamy, SC, ST, and PD respectively, provided they meet the minimum selection criteria as specified by IIFM.

About Indian Institute of Forest Management
The Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) (founded 1982) is an autonomous institution at Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, India, established by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India with financial assistance from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and course assistance from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
Post Graduate Diploma in Forest Management
The PFM course was started in 1988. It is a two-year residential course. The first batch of PFM students graduated in 1990. Admission to PFM course is done through CAT (conducted by IIM). After the test there is a round of group discussions and interviews and then a final list is drawn for the course. Scholarship was provided to the all the students admitted which has been discontinued from 2008.
The institute has a good faculty student ratio and the very best infrastructure in terms of computing and library facilities. It is a fully residential course with 93 seats.
