MEDICAL FITNESS TEST:
The candidates shortlisted for appointment based on merit in Written Test and Interview, will have to pass requisite medical fitness test(s) conducted by the BMRCL to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post. Visual Acuity Standard is one of the important criteria of medical fitness. It may be noted that candidates qualifying in examination(s) for these posts but failing in prescribed medical examination(s) will not in any case be considered for appointment. The result of the Medical Test conducted shall be final and binding on the candidate and no representation in this regard shall be entertained including for second opinion etc.
AGE LIMIT
The age limit indicated will be reckoned as on 01.01.2011. The upper age limit is relaxable as under subject to submission of requisite certificate.
By 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
By 3 years for OBC candidates.
For Ex-servicemen, the relaxation in age shall be equivalent to the number of years of service in armed forces plus 3 years, but in any case the maximum age not to exceed 45 years as on 1.1.2011.
Candidates should note that the Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/High School Examination Certificate or equivalent Certificates as on the date of submission of applications will only be accepted
EXAMINATION FEES:
SC/ST candidates – Examination fees – Rs. 100/- per application.
Others – Examination fee is Rs. 200/- per application

About BMRC
In 1994, the Bangalore Mass Rapid Transit Limited (BMRTL) was incorporated by the State Government to implement the mass rapid transit system. BMRTL in turn asked the IL&FS to carry out a feasibility study for LRT System on Public-Private Partnership. However, though the partner was selected, the project did not take off. Later, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in partnership with RITES prepared a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Bangalore Metro Rail, Phase I in 2003 at the instance of the Government. It proposed two double line corridors: East-West (EW) and North-South (NS) with a total length of 33 km.
The Bangalore Metro Rail finally took shape with the Karnataka Government clearing the project in March, 2005 and the Union Government giving its approval in April, 2006.
