Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) lies midway (Latitude 18° 56.3' N, Longitude 72° 45.9' E) on the West coast of India and has a natural deep-water harbour of 400 km2, protected by mainland of Konkan on its east and the island of Mumbai on its west.
It is located on the western shore of Mumbai Harbour, along the eastern edge of Mumbai city. The harbour opens to the Arabian Sea to the south.

MbPT handled over 57 million tonnes of cargo during 2007-2008. Cruise liners visiting Mumbai usually dock at the Ballard Pier of MbPT.
